Projects Galore!

Ok.....Now all you teachers can be jealous!  This was the First thing I did when I moved....pretty sad huh! 12x18

 

So I wanted to show off some of my summer projects....I love to share things (hopefully it doesn't come off as bragging, lol)!  This is to hold my letter tiles for small group instruction.  I will probably place it behind my guided reading table so it is easy to access.

 

 

I bought this at Wal-Mart for under $12 in the tool section.

 

I found some cute orange chevron paper from Hobby Lobby and made a template with my girls scrap construction paper.

 

Then I got to choppin!

I made sure they fit ....

Added the Letters and Used this double-Sided dot tape from Hobby Lobby.

Goes on clear! 

This is a top picture showing that there is a little ledge you can store things in!  kinda cool.....it's the little things that make us teachers smile!

 

I also went to Lowe's and bought the 22 drawer organizer and started making my Labels for that! After I spray paint it black to match I will add a pic to show you!

 

Check out my Stud muffin! This is not his favorite thing to do but since I moved back up to first grade....and I wasn't gonna leave that awesome thing back in kindergarten! Having a reading loft in First Grade was one of my most favorite things ever!!!

 

I might....might....MIGHT paint it....I've had it 3 years and just haven't gotten the motivation to tackle that project yet.

 

So, Project number bazillion....I got 6 frames at the famous Dollar Tree!

 

I totally found this off Pinterest and wanted to try it out!

 

I plan on adding some heavy duty magnets to the back with E6000 (both found at Hobby Lobby) and place them on my magnetic White Board 

Change is in the Air!

Well, I taught two wonderful years in kindergarten but I am packing up and moving back up to first grade!  I am pretty pumped.  don't get me wrong, I loved Kindergarten most of the time, but MAN it is one hard job!  It takes a special person to have the energy to keep up with 22 five year olds all day long!  Anyways...There are so many things I could say about kindergarten and first grade that would be wonderful and scary, But I will just show you my first project for the summer! 

So, I made a little "World Book" to go along with our "community/world we live in" Study.

 

 These are my models!  The one cutting will be in First grade this year.... and my blond "watching", will be in kindergarten this coming year. 

 

I love the, "Gah MOM! Get out of my face, can't you see I'm cutting here!" look!

Shockingly she cuts really good with that right hand even though she is a south paw! (I always secretly wanted to be a leftie, and now I can just live vicariously through my 6 year old!!!)

She loves to take pics, hah!

 

I asked her to draw some things she knows are in our town and she drew Dollar Tree.....You can tell she's a teachers kid, lol!

I promise I only helped with one little corner of her Texas drawing! (Because she was almost in tears, that it didn't look right.....perfectionist!)

My World Book

Math Journals

So, I want to share some of the pictures of our math journals we worked on through out the year.  I am pretty proud because we actually did this all year long and it worked out great!  We would only get them out a few days a week and add math concepts we were already covering in the classroom.  Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the outside of any of our math journals but they were cute!  We sent them home with the kids and this note.

 

 

Each time we got out our journals we would add how many days we have been to school (counting to the 100th day).

We would practice writing numbers 1-10 and patterns.

 

We would also journal the calendar as we moved throught each month.  When we where done we would color a pattern while others were working.

 

 

 We also graphed our teeth that we lost for each month.  Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the teeth graph.

 

 

 

When we studied numbers 0-20 we would do them different ways each time. Some foldables, some layout pages, and sometimes we got lazy and just drew on the page and added some ten frame boxes.

The kids LOVED putting the clock together!
