Eggs and Martin Luther King Jr.

While we studied Martin Luther King Jr. this week I had the kids make the connection to the egg observation other classes have done.

I always start MLK Jr. with the "Brain File". We talk about how our brains make little folders for things to store our learning or "schema" in.

We then read a book about MLK Jr. And added out new learning.

Following the brain file we went to our objectives poster and talked about what we were going to do that afternoon.

I then gave every table a brown and white egg and a Venn Diagram for them to record.  They helped me fill out my Brown and White Egg Venn as well.

Finally we wrote about how Martin Luther King made an impact on our world and then set to making Martin out of paper.  This idea stemmed from Reagan Tunstall's MLK writing craft which you can check out at Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits
